Drive specs at a glance
The FRN0179G2W-4GU is a Fuji Electric FRENIC-Eco variable frequency drive rated for 100 hp (75 kW) continuous output, delivering 139 A at 480 VAC three-phase. Input accepts 380–480 VAC +10%/-15%, 50/60 Hz, three-phase. Output frequency range is 0.1 to 120 Hz, with 50% starting torque at 1 Hz — enough to break a loaded conveyor or pump from a dead stop without oversizing. Built-in protections cover drive thermal overload, motor thermal overload, overvoltage, undervoltage, phase failure, phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground short circuit, and over-braking. No brake chopper on board — if you need dynamic braking for vertical loads or fast decel, plan for an external chopper and resistor bank. The NEMA 1 enclosure (open style with a heat sink) is suited for indoor panel mounting — not washdown or outdoor. UL508C, CSA C22.2 No.14, and EN50178-1997 listed, so it passes inspection for North American and European machine builds.
I/O and control
Control comes via the keypad/LCD-LED display or remote contacts. The drive has 7 digital inputs and 3 analog inputs; 5 digital outputs and 2 analog outputs. That's enough for basic speed reference, start/stop, fault reset, and a couple of feedback signals — no Ethernet port onboard, so if you need fieldbus, budget for an optional communication card. The display shows motor speed with percent, alarm code, menu, function code, output frequency, output current, and output voltage — useful for commissioning without a laptop. Control method is variable frequency (V/f) with programmable start/stop and remote contact acceptance.
