Compact self-tuning controller for tight panels
The PXF4ABA2-FBKA1 is a 1/16 DIN (48 x 48 mm) temperature and process controller from Fuji Electric's PXF series, built for applications where panel space is at a premium and you need the loop to settle fast. The self-tuning algorithm handles PID autotune on startup, so you don't need to babysit the first ramp. Sampling at 50 ms means it catches thermal transients a standard 100 ms controller would average over — useful on thin-gauge heaters or fast-moving web processes where overshoot scrapes product.
What the 50 ms sampling buys you in practice
The 50 ms sampling speed is the headline spec that separates this from economy 1/16 DIN controllers. In a plastic extruder barrel zone or a reflow oven profile, that update rate lets the PID loop respond to a load change within one mains cycle on a 50 Hz line. The self-tuning algorithm maps the process response curve during the first heat-up and sets P, I, D, and the manual reset — no trial-and-error step-response tests on the production floor.
Panel integration
The 1/16 DIN cutout (45 x 45 mm) is the standard panel-mount footprint — fits existing punch patterns without re-tooling the gland plate. Depth behind the panel is shallow enough for a 100 mm deep enclosure; leaves room for terminal blocks and a small SSR bank behind it. Spring-cage or screw terminals on the rear, depending on the variant suffix, so no special tooling required for the wire terminations.
