What the 50ms sampling means in practice
The 50ms sampling speed governs how often the controller reads the input and updates the output. For a process loop with a time constant under a few seconds — say, a small electric heater or a gas burner on a 1/4" tube — a 50ms cycle gives tight overshoot control without needing an external ramp-soak programmer. Slower controllers (100–200 ms) work fine on large thermal masses like ovens or tanks; this one is sized for the fast end of the thermal range.
