What this controller is and what it does on your panel
The Fuji Electric PXF4AEY2-FVMA1 is a 1/16 DIN (48x48mm) temperature and process controller from the SERIES PXF family. It's a self-tuning unit with a 50 ms sampling speed, meaning it adjusts its PID parameters automatically to the process and updates the control loop fast enough for most thermal processes — injection molding barrel zones, packaging seal bars, or oven zones. The 50 ms sample rate catches temperature swings before they overshoot, which matters when you're holding a +/-1°C window on a hot-runner mold. Power supply is standard 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, so it drops into any panel without a separate transformer. The control output is a current output (typically 4-20 mA), which drives a SCR or solid-state relay directly — no signal conditioner needed between the controller and the power stack. Two alarm points are built in for high/low process deviation or absolute value alarms; you can wire them to a beacon or a PLC digital input for supervisory monitoring. RS485 communication is included on the board, so this controller can talk to a supervisory system over Modbus RTU. The programming is set for North American Code, which means the firmware and default parameters match the North American market conventions (Fahrenheit or Celsius display, alarm logic, etc.).
Panel integration notes
The 1/16 DIN cutout (45x45mm) is the smallest standard panel-mount size, so it fits tight enclosures where space is at a premium. Depth behind the panel is typical for this class — allow clearance for the screw-terminal block and the RS485 connector. The controller is not DIN-rail mounted; it clips into the panel cutout with the provided bracket. Terminations are screw-type, sized for 0.5 to 1.5 mm² wire. The RS485 connection is two-wire half-duplex; daisy-chain multiple controllers on the same bus, but keep total cable length under 1200 meters at 9600 baud.
