The 1/16 DIN form factor (48 x 48mm) fits the standard panel cutout, leaving room for additional controllers or indicators in the same row — a density play for multi-zone ovens, packaging machines, or extrusion lines where every millimeter of panel face counts.
What the sampling speed means for your loop
The 50ms sampling speed means the controller reads the process variable and updates its output fifty times a second — fast enough to catch thermal transients in a small reflow oven or a plastic-injection nozzle without overshoot. For slower thermal masses (large ovens, environmental chambers) the self-tuning algorithm will naturally extend the cycle time, so the 50ms ceiling buys you headroom rather than a forced fast loop. Self-tuning reduces manual PID tuning to a single setpoint entry: the controller learns the process dynamics during the first heat-up and sets P, I, and D gains automatically. On a line changeover or a new tool, that saves the half-hour of Ziegler-Nichols step-testing an integrator would otherwise bill.
