What this controller is
The Fuji Electric PXF4APP2-MBKA1 is a self-tuning 1/16 DIN (48 x 48mm) compact temperature and process controller with a 50ms sampling speed.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 50ms sampling speed means the controller updates its input and recalculates the PID output every 50 milliseconds — fast enough for thermal processes like injection molding, extrusion barrel zones, or reflow ovens where overshoot or lag costs scrap. Slower controllers (100–200 ms) let temperature drift before the correction hits the heater; at 50ms this one catches the trend earlier. The 1/16 DIN (48 x 48mm) panel cutout is the smallest standard DIN size — fits a quarter of the panel space a 1/4 DIN unit takes. On a multi-zone machine (six to twelve zones per cabinet) that footprint difference saves a full row of panel height. Self-tuning means the controller learns the thermal load characteristics on first ramp and sets its own PID gains. For a line-down swap the commissioning engineer can power it up, set the setpoint, and let it auto-tune — no manual gain calculation, no step-test spreadsheet.
Where it is deployed
Panel-mount in a standard 48 x 48mm DIN cutout — the controller slides in from the front and clamps with the included bracket. Typical enclosures are NEMA 4X polycarbonate or painted steel; ensure the cutout is deburred so the gasket seats evenly for the IP rating.
