Panel fit and loop speed
The PXF9ABY2-FVHA1 occupies a standard 1/4 DIN cutout (96 x 96 mm) — the same footprint as every other 1/4 DIN controller on the panel, so it swaps into an existing hole without rework. Sampling every 50 ms means the controller updates its output faster than most PLC analog input scan cycles — useful for fast-responding processes like infrared heater zones or small extruder barrels where a 100 ms+ loop would trail the setpoint.
Self-tuning and what it saves
The self-tuning algorithm identifies the process dynamics (gain, time constant, dead time) during the first heat-up and sets the PID terms automatically — no manual Ziegler-Nichols step test needed on the production floor. For a commissioning engineer, that means the loop is stable within one or two thermal time constants of the process, not after three trial-and-error tuning sessions.
