The PXF9APY2-FBMA1 is a self-tuning 1/4 DIN (96 x 96 mm panel cutout) temperature and process controller that samples the loop every 50 ms — fast enough for thermal processes with short time constants like injection molding barrel zones or small reflow ovens where a standard 250 ms controller would overshoot.
50 ms sampling — what it means for loop tuning
A 50 ms sampling period lets the PID loop respond to process upsets within one mains cycle (50 Hz = 20 ms, 60 Hz = 16.7 ms), so the controller sees the temperature ripple from a phase-fired SCR heater before the next zero-cross. The self-tuning algorithm converges on gain and integral time in about two thermal time constants — useful when the process load changes between product changeovers. The 1/4 DIN form factor (96 x 96 mm) fits the standard panel cutout used across the Fuji PXF series, so swapping from an older PXF controller requires no panel rework — same hole, same mounting bracket spacing.
