Fit and function
The Omron E2AS08KS01WPB1TP5MOMS is a flush-mount M8 inductive proximity sensor with a 1 mm sensing distance, normally-open output, and a 200 mA load rating over 10–32 VDC. The 1 mm range is intentionally tight—it suits applications where you detect small ferrous targets at a fixed gap, such as position confirmation on a pick-and-place gripper or a cam-lobe presence check, without false triggers from adjacent metal.
Rugged enough for washdown
The stainless steel housing and IP67/IP69K rating let this sensor survive high-pressure, high-temp washdown cycles typical in food processing or pharmaceutical filling lines. The 10 % repeat accuracy on a 1 mm sensing distance keeps the switch point consistent over temperature.
How it sits beside the 2 mm sibling
The electrical envelope—10–32 VDC, 200 mA, NO output—is shared with the 2 mm sensing distance variant E2AS08KS02WPD12MOMS, and the M8 flush-mount body is identical. The critical difference for a panel already wired for the 2 mm three-pin version is that this unit comes with stranded 3-pin wiring, while the 2 mm peer uses a 2-pin termination. If your existing harness expects two wires (brown and blue only, signal and power on the same pair), replacing with this 3-pin NO sensor will require a third wire for the normally-open signal return. Same footprint, different wiring scheme.
