What it is and what it does
The Omron E2E-X3D2-M1GJ 0.3M is a shielded inductive proximity sensor from the E2E series, delivering a 3 mm sensing distance for ferrous targets. Its normally closed output means the load circuit is closed when no target is present – a common configuration for fail-safe detection or when the load must remain active on sensor failure. Wired as a DC 2-wire device, it comes pre-terminated with a 0.3 meter PVC cable and an M12 connector, sized for quick replacement in tight control cabinets or sensor rakes.
Sensing behavior and fit
Shielded construction concentrates the field at the face, allowing flush mounting in metal without derating the sensing distance. Standard oscillation frequency suits general-purpose switching up to the sensor's internal response time.
