Ingress and environment
The E2E-X6MD28-M1TGJ 0.3M: Triple IP rating — IP67, IP67G, IP69K — covers washdown with high-pressure hot water, oil-resistant environments, and temporary submersion. The stainless steel SUS303 body and PBT sensing face handle caustic wash cycles common in food and beverage lines. 0.3 m robot cable with M12 Smartclick connector is bend-resistant for cable tracks or festooning. No separate junction box needed; plugs directly into an M12 splitter or IO-Link hub.
Sensing and output
6 mm nominal sensing distance on an M8 short body — this is the 3× extended-range variant. Standard M8 short-body unshielded sensors top out around 2 mm. The extra reach allows a larger air gap or more target tolerance in vibration-prone applications. NC output (normally closed) and 2-wire DC supply (10–30 VDC) simplify wiring and provide fail-open detection on broken wire. No separate pull-up resistor needed for PLC input cards with sinking input. Unshielded construction means the sensor can be flush-mounted in metal without derating; the 6 mm range holds even when embedded.
