The Part
This is an Omron E2E-X7D1-M1GJ-T 0.5M — a shielded M18 inductive proximity sensor with a 7 mm sensing range on ferrous metal. Output is 2-wire DC, normally open, running on 12 to 24 VDC. The M12 4-pin pigtail with 0.5 m cable is ready to plug into a standard connector, saving wiring time on the panel or machine. Nickle-plated brass body handles the usual factory floor bumps.
Mounting & Setup
Mounts straight into an M18 threaded hole or through a bracket with an 18 mm mounting hole — no adapters or special hardware needed. Shielded construction means you can flush-mount it in metal without worrying about false triggers from adjacent materials. Overall length is 55 mm, threaded portion is 38 mm; keep at least that depth clear in your fixture.
