What it is and why it fits your panel
The Omron E5CC-CX1DUM-000 is a panel-mount process and temperature controller from the E5CC series, accepting inputs from RTD and a wide range of thermocouples (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) as well as 0–20mA and 0–10VDC process signals, making it a dual-purpose unit for temperature loops or linear process variables. Control method is On/Off or PID, and the output is a combination of relay and analog, so you can drive a heater contactor and send a 4-20mA retransmission from the same unit. Supply is 24VAC/DC, and termination is via an octal 11-pin plug-in base — that matches the standard E5CC footprint, so swap-in is straightforward if you're already using this family.
Signal and environment notes
The IP66 front rating means the face survives hose-down and dust exposure — common in food or washdown areas — but the rear terminals still need a clean, dry enclosure. Dual display shows process value (0.600" digits) and setpoint (0.280" digits) in dual-color LCD; the high contrast helps reading from a distance in a bright panel. For thermocouple inputs, use the correct compensating cable and ground the shield at the controller end only — floating the field side avoids ground loops that drift the reading. If you're sourcing a 4-20mA signal from a transmitter, check the input burden; the controller is typical for this class, but confirm with the manual if your loop has long cable runs.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The panel cutout is a standard 45mm square, and the octal base is common across the E5CC family, so if you need a different output mix or supply voltage later, the mechanical and wiring pattern stays the same.
