Omron E5CC-CX3D5M-5804U — 24V temperature controller with RS-485 and starter kit
The E5CC-CX3D5M-5804U is a 24 VAC/DC temperature and process controller from Omron's E5CC series, active and in production. It includes a starter kit with controller, cable, and software — meaning less procurement legwork for a first-fit or spare. It accepts RTD, ten thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W), plus 0–20 mA or 0–10 VDC process inputs. Outputs are one analog signal and three relay contacts — enough for a heater, alarm, and aux cooling valve without adding a remote I/O brick. Communication is RS-485 using CompoWay/F or Modbus, so it drops onto most PLC backbones without a gateway. The dual-color LCD shows two rows of four characters each — process value up top, set point below.

The -005 adds an event input and a voltage pulse output for driving an external SSR — its third output is a transistor pair, not an analog signal. If your panel was wired expecting a voltage pulse to an SSR, the -5804U's analog output (0–20 mA / 0–10 V) will not drive it directly — you would need a signal converter or a different module. For applications that use only the three relay outputs and don't need the event input, the -5804U is a drop-in mechanically and electrically on the power and bus sides.

Panel fit and environment
