Universal input, dual-output controller for panel-mount loops
The Omron E5CC-QX2ABM-001 is a panel-mount process and temperature controller that accepts RTD, thermocouple (Types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W), 0–20 mA, or 0–10 VDC input — so one part number covers most loop types on a machine without swapping modules. It runs on 100–240 VAC, meaning no separate 24 VDC power supply needed in a standard control panel. The front face carries an IP66 rating, so it stands up to washdown splashes and dust on the panel door. Outputs are two relay contacts plus a voltage pulse for an external SSR — enough to drive a contactor for heater power and a solid-state relay for proportional control without adding a second controller. The control method is On/Off or PID, selectable per loop, with autotune to set PID gains on commissioning.
Spring terminals and event inputs cut wiring time
Termination is spring-clamp, not screw — push a ferrule into the cage and it holds. That shaves a few minutes per panel when you're wiring a dozen of these. The panel cutout is a standard 45.00 mm square, so it drops into existing DIN-style punch-outs or a dedicated bezel. Built-in event input lets you switch between two setpoints or start/stop control from a PLC dry contact without extra terminals. Heater fault detection monitors current draw on the load side and flags a broken heater element — useful on a molding press or oven where an undetected open heater drifts the process. Display is a dual-color LCD with two rows of characters — the top row shows the process value in 0.600" digits, the bottom shows setpoint in 0.280" digits. That's readable from a few steps back on the factory floor.
