Universal input, three relay outputs, two SSR drives
The Omron E5CC-TQQ3A5M-001 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller that accepts RTD, ten thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W), plus 0-20mA and 0-10VDC linear inputs. That covers the vast majority of industrial temperature sensing without needing a separate signal conditioner — one SKU for the whole line. Outputs are three relay contacts and two voltage pulses for external SSRs. The relay bank handles on/off or alarm duties; the SSR drives run the heating element through a solid-state contactor, which gives longer life on cycling loads than a relay alone.
PID with event input and heater fault detection
Control method is selectable between On/Off and proportional (PID) with auto-tune. The PID loop is standard for tight temperature regulation in ovens, extruders, and packaging seal bars. An event input lets a PLC or limit switch force a preset run/hold/stop state — useful for recipe changeovers or interlocking with a safety circuit. The heater fault detection monitors current draw and flags a broken heater or SSR short before the process drifts out of spec.
Panel cutout is 45.00mm x 45.00mm square — the standard 1/16 DIN hole. The front bezel carries an IP66 rating, so it withstands washdown spray and dust in food, beverage, or chemical processing environments. Dual-color LCD backlight with four digits per row (0.600" and 0.280" character heights) shows process value and setpoint simultaneously. Screw-terminal connections — no special crimp tool needed for field wiring.
Active production — sourced to order
Lifecycle status is active per Omron. No end-of-life notice or successor part number on record. This is the current-production variant with event input and heater fault detection but no serial communications — if you need RS-485 (CompoWay/F or Modbus), the E5CC-TQQ3A5M-003 carries the same I/O with the comms port added. Sourced through independent distribution channels — no minimum buy, no factory lead-time deferral.
