What this controller does on your panel
The Omron E5EC-CQ4A5M-009 is a 1/4 DIN panel-mount process and temperature controller that accepts RTD and 13 thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC analog inputs, covering a span from -200°C to 2300°C. Output stage combines four relay outputs, one analog output, and a voltage output for an external SSR. The RS-485 port speaks both CompoWay/F and Modbus, so it drops into existing PLC networks without a protocol converter. The IP66-rated front panel means it handles washdown in food or beverage lines — the electronics behind the panel stay dry.
What the output mix buys you
Compared to the relay-only E5EC-RR4A5M-009 (six relay outputs, no analog or SSR drive), this CQ4A5M-009 trades two relays for an analog output and a dedicated SSR voltage output — the right choice if you need to retransmit the process value to a recorder or drive a high-cycle solid-state contactor. Against the QQ4A5M-010 (four relay plus two SSR voltage outputs), this unit adds the analog channel while keeping four relays — a middle ground for applications needing both a 4-20 mA retransmit and multiple on/off stages.
Panel cutout is 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm. The tri-color LCD shows four characters per row across three rows, with the top row at 0.710" (18.00 mm) for the process value — readable from across a machine cell. Event input and heater fault detection are built in, so you can trigger a setpoint change from a dry contact or monitor a heater current without an add-on module.
