What it is and what it controls
The Omron E5EC-RX2ABM-011 is a 1/8 DIN temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple inputs (Types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus 0-20mA or 0-10VDC linear signals. It provides four relay outputs for control and alarm functions, with On/Off or PID control methods selectable per application. The input range spans -200°C to 2300°C depending on sensor type, covering most industrial heating processes from cryogenic to high-temperature furnaces.
Panel fit and wiring
Panel mount with a 92.00mm x 45.00mm rectangular cutout — standard 1/8 DIN footprint that drops into existing panel holes without modification. Spring terminal connections eliminate screw tightening; solid or ferruled stranded wire pushes in directly, saving time on the panel assembly line. IP66 front-panel rating means the display and keypad withstand washdown and dust ingress — suitable for food, beverage, or outdoor enclosures where the controller face is exposed.
Heater fault detection and display
Built-in heater fault detection monitors the load current via an external CT and triggers an alarm if the heater circuit opens or degrades — catches a failed SSR or broken element before the process drifts. The tri-color LCD backlight changes color (green, orange, red) to indicate process status at a glance — set it to red on alarm so operators see the fault from across the line. Three display rows show PV, SV, and a third parameter simultaneously, each with 4 characters; character heights of 18.00mm, 11.00mm, and 7.80mm make the primary process value readable from several meters.
