What the output mix buys you
The E5EC-TQQ4D5M-008: Four relay outputs handle direct on/off switching of contactors, solenoid valves, or alarm circuits up to the relay rating. Two voltage outputs drive external SSRs for PID-controlled heating zones where the cycle rate would wear out mechanical contacts. The 24VAC/DC supply rail means this controller runs off the same control transformer that powers PLCs and sensors in a typical panel — no separate 100-240VAC tap needed.
Sensor and input flexibility
Accepts RTD, thermocouple types B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W, plus 0-20mA or 0-10VDC linear process signals. That covers the full range from cryogenic RTD to 2300°C high-temp furnace work on one SKU. The heater fault detection feature monitors current draw on the load side and flags a broken heater or SSR short — a common failure mode in electric ovens and extruder barrel heaters that otherwise goes unnoticed until product quality drifts.
Panel fit and environmental sealing
Panel cutout is 92mm x 45mm, the standard 1/4 DIN horizontal footprint. Screw terminals on the rear — no special crimp tooling needed for field wiring. IP66 front panel rating means the display and keypad survive washdown spray. The gasket seals against the panel face, not the enclosure door — useful for food processing or outdoor cabinet installations where a hose-down is part of the sanitation cycle.
Communication and lifecycle
RS-485 port supports both Omron CompoWay/F and Modbus RTU. That lets a PLC or SCADA system read PV, setpoint, and alarm status without extra analog I/O cards.
