The EE-SPX401: Narrow 3.6 mm slot photomicrosensor for small-part presence detection. NPN output, Light-ON mode, runs on 5 to 24 VDC. Plug-in connection — no integral cable strain relief; if the panel sees vibration, secure the housing to the bracket to avoid intermittent beam breaks. The 3.6 mm gap means the target must cleanly interrupt the GaAs infrared beam; dust or smudges in that slot will mimic a target and cause false positives. Keep the optics clean.
Installation note
Plug-in connector: no pigtail to route. When wiring into a terminal block, use a mating connector with proper strain relief. Supply voltage range 5 to 24 VDC covers both 5 V logic rails and standard 24 V control circuits. Output is Light-ON only — no dark-ON mode on this variant. Confirm that your PLC input expects a sinking (NPN) signal and the logic sense matches the application.
