What this 30 W DIN-rail supply does for the panel
The Omron S8VK-G03024 is a 30 W single-phase power supply that delivers 24 VDC at 1.3 A from a 100–240 VAC input, mounted on a DIN rail with screw terminals. The adjustable output lets you trim the voltage a few percent to compensate for line drop in a long daisy chain to field devices.
Fit and integration on the DIN rail
The plastic housing measures 32 mm wide by 89.9 mm deep and high — it occupies a single DIN-rail module width, so it slips into a crowded panel without forcing a re-spacing of adjacent breakers or relays. IP20 rating means it belongs inside an enclosure, not on the wet side of the gland plate. Wire it with 24–12 AWG stranded; the screw terminals accept ferruled leads for a clean termination.
Protection and output characteristics
The supply includes automatic reset overload and overvoltage protection, plus parallel and series operation capability for scaling output current or voltage. Ripple and noise are held to 30 mV maximum, and output noise to 30 mV — clean enough for sensitive analog loads like 4-20 mA transmitters or strain-gauge amplifiers. Hold-up time is 23 msec at nominal load, 154 msec minimum — enough to ride through a half-cycle dip without dropping the DC bus.
