800 A, 150 kA — the LSI trip curve for distribution
The C080L350FM is a fixed-mount, manually operated 3-pole circuit breaker from the ComPacT NS new generation range, carrying an 800 A MicroLogic 5.0 electronic trip unit. The LSI protection profile (long-time, short-time, instantaneous) gives selective coordination with downstream feeders: the short-time delay lets downstream breakers clear first, keeping the main bus live.
Trip unit and protection logic
The 20-minute thermal memory prevents nuisance reclosing on a hot breaker — the trip curve resets only after the conductor cools. No earth-leakage protection on this variant; if ground-fault is required, the MicroLogic 6.0 or external Vigi module is the usual add.
Breaking capacity across common voltages
Rated Icu is 150 kA at 220/240 V and 380/415 V AC, 130 kA at 440 V, and 100 kA at 500/525 V AC. For a 480 V system (common in North American industrial), the 130 kA at 440 V is the closest published point; the 100 kA at 500 V covers 480 V with margin.
Physical integration and environment
Fixed backplate mount, front connection both top and bottom. Dimensions: 327 mm high, 210 mm wide, 147 mm deep. Connection pitch is 70 mm.
Mechanical endurance is 10,000 cycles. Electrical endurance at rated current (800 A): 2,000 cycles at 690 V, 3,000 cycles at 440 V. At half-rated current (400 A): 3,000 cycles at 690 V, 4,000 cycles at 440 V. Power dissipation is 20 W at full load — negligible for panel thermal budgeting.
