The C10B4TM016 is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSX100B moulded-case circuit breaker with a 16 A TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit, four poles, and a 25 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V AC. That 25 kA Icu at 415 V AC (per IEC 60947-2) is the rating that governs its fit in a distribution panel: it can safely clear a bolted fault up to 25 kA without rupturing, which covers the typical available fault current on the secondary side of a 500 kVA transformer at 415 V. The thermal-magnetic TM-D trip provides L (overload) protection via a bimetal element and I (short-circuit) protection via a solenoid, a straightforward curve suited for distribution and general-purpose feeder protection.
Mounts on a backplate in any orientation — horizontal, vertical, or flat — which gives panel builders flexibility in tight enclosures. The 140 mm width and 161 mm height fit standard MCCB cutouts; the 86 mm depth leaves room for rear busbar connections. Front-facing upper and lower connections simplify busbar and cable routing in a distribution board.
Durability and electrical life
Rated for 50,000 mechanical cycles and 30,000 electrical cycles at rated current and 440 V. At half-rated current (8 A) the electrical life extends to 50,000 cycles; at 690 V it drops to 10,000 cycles at full current. These figures are the basis for predicting maintenance intervals in high-cycle applications like conveyor or pump panels.
