The TM-D trip unit provides L (thermal) protection for overloads and I (magnetic) protection for short-circuits, with fixed magnetic thresholds typical of the D curve (higher inrush tolerance for motor or transformer loads). Breaking capacity is the key fit parameter: this NSX100H frame delivers 70 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC and 100 kA Icu at 220/240 V AC, per IEC 60947-2. At 480 V AC the UL rating is 65 kA Icu. The 140 mm width and 161 mm height fit standard ComPacT NSX panel cutouts.
Durability and application context
Mechanical durability is 50,000 cycles; electrical durability is 50,000 cycles at 440 V at half rated current (In/2), and 30,000 cycles at full rated current (In). For a distribution breaker in a panel that cycles infrequently (once or twice a day), this is effectively a lifetime component. The toggle control is manual on/off, with no motor operator or shunt trip included — those are optional accessories that fit the 5 accessory slots. The breaker is rated for horizontal and vertical mounting on a flat backplate. Operating altitude is 0 to 2000 m without derating; above 2000 m up to 5000 m requires derating per the manufacturer's curve. The IK07 impact rating (per IEC 62262) means the enclosure withstands a 2 J impact — typical for panel-mounted gear.
