Integrator's note: 80 A MCCB for distribution panels
The Schneider Electric C16F4TM080C is a ComPacT NSX160F 4-pole moulded-case circuit breaker with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit rated 80 A at 50 °C. It is designed for distribution applications per EN/IEC 60947-2, with a breaking capacity of 36 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC 50/60 Hz — sufficient for most industrial panel main or feeder duty. The F breaking-capacity code (36 kA at 415 V) places it in the mid-range of the NSX160 family, suitable for systems where fault levels stay under that threshold without requiring the higher F2 or J rating.
The 80 A trip rating is the continuous current at 50 °C; above that ambient, derating applies per the manufacturer's thermal curve. The TM-D trip unit provides fixed thermal-magnetic protection: L (thermal) for overload and I (magnetic) for short-circuit, with no adjustable long-time or short-time delay — a straightforward choice for feeder or branch circuits where coordination studies don't require selective settings. The 4-pole configuration with neutral left suits three-phase-plus-neutral distribution, and the neutral protection is set at 1 x Ir, meaning the neutral pole tracks the phase protection.
The 140 mm width, 161 mm height, and 86 mm depth fit standard MCCB panel cutouts.
