The Schneider Electric EZC400H44250 is a 4-pole EasyPact EZC400H molded case circuit breaker rated 400 A at 40 °C with a thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit. Its 50 kA Icu at 400 V AC (50/60 Hz) per IEC 60947-2 means it safely interrupts faults up to that level without cascading upstream — a solid fit for distribution panels where fault current is known and selectivity matters.
The H breaking capacity code delivers 50 kA Icu across the 380–440 V AC range, and 70 kA at 220–240 V AC. That headroom at lower voltages simplifies coordination with downstream breakers — you can size the branch devices closer to load without worrying about cascading failure. The breaker is Category A (no intentional short-time delay), so it clears fast on a short circuit; pair it with a current-limiting upstream device if you need full selectivity through a high-fault bus.
The TM-D trip unit combines thermal overload (inverse-time) and magnetic short-circuit protection in one block. The trip unit rating is 250 A at 50 °C, while the breaker frame is rated 400 A at 40 °C — meaning you can install a lower-rated trip in the same frame for derated applications, but this unit ships with the 250 A trip installed. Overload and short-circuit protection are both covered; there is no earth-leakage module integrated.
Mounting and enclosure fit
Fixed mounting on a backplate with front-front connections — line and load both terminate on the front face, which simplifies busbar routing in a panel. The 140 mm width and 255 mm height fit standard MCCB cutouts; the 44 mm pole pitch matches common distribution block spacing. IP20 finger protection on the front, IK07 impact resistance for panel-door mounting.
