It provides both overload (thermal) and short-circuit (magnetic) protection in one device, so a single component handles the two main fault types a distribution circuit sees. Breaking capacity is 70 kA Icu at 220/240 V AC and 36 kA Icu at 380–440 V AC, all per IEC 60947-2. That 70 kA figure at the lower voltage covers high-fault utility feeds; the 36 kA at 400 V is the number to check against your transformer impedance and cable run.
Backplate-mounted with a 35 mm connection pitch. The 105 mm width and 161 mm height fit standard distribution panel cutouts; depth is 86 mm, which leaves room for rear-connected busbars or cable ladders behind the mounting plate. IP40 enclosure protection means it is suited for indoor panel installation where dust ingress is limited. IK07 impact resistance handles the occasional tool bump during commissioning.
Electrical endurance is 20,000 cycles at 415 V at half rated current (In/2) per IEC 60947-2, and 8,000 cycles at 400 V at full rated current per GB 14048.2. Mechanical endurance is 20,000 cycles under both standards. For a distribution MCCB these numbers are typical — the breaker is designed for occasional switching, not frequent motor starting.
