What the ratings mean for fit
The GS1JD4 is a 4-pole switch-disconnector-fuse rated for 100 A in AC-23B duty at 690 V — that is the switching category for motor loads with occasional inrush, so it is sized for controlling and isolating motors, not just resistive heating. Making capacity is 1000 A at 400 V AC-23B; breaking capacity is 800 A at the same duty. The short-circuit withstand is 20 kA, and the rated short-circuit making capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V when protected by gG fuses — this tells you the fuse coordination required upstream for the SCCR. IP20 with the terminal cover fitted per IEC 60529 — finger-safe in the panel but not washdown-rated. The fuse cover passes 850 °C glow-wire; the body passes 960 °C, per IEC 60695-2-1.

Physical fit and integration
Mounts on a plate (not DIN rail). Dimensions: 7.3 in wide, 6.4 in high, 4.6 in deep — account for the handle throw on the right side when laying out the panel door cutout. Power circuit connections accept bars or lugs/ring terminals for 25–95 mm² flexible cable; tightening torque is 12 N.m on the bars or lugs. Fuse size is 22 x 58 mm, NFC type. The 4-pole configuration with 4 NO contacts means all poles switch together — no auxiliary contact built in.
