TeSys GS Fuse Switch Disconnector Body, 100 A, 4 Poles
The GS1JBR4 is a fuse switch disconnector body from the Schneider Electric TeSys GS range, designed for 4-pole AC/DC networks with BS-type fuses sized at Ø 31 mm. Rated 100 A operational current across AC-23A and AC-23B duty categories at 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V (with terminal cover), this body handles motor switching loads up to 51 kW at 400 V and 90 kW at 690 V in AC-23 duty. Breaking capacity is 800 A at 400 V AC-23B, with a making capacity of 1000 A at the same voltage — the interrupting rating is backed by the BS fuse coordination.
Lifecycle Reality: Obsolete, Sourced to Order
No official successor or pin-compatible replacement is recorded from the original manufacturer. Availability is through independent surplus and broker channels; quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at the time of RFQ. For a BOM freeze or line-down replacement, the sourcing path is a quoted-to-order basis against the required quantity — current pricing and lead time are confirmed at quote, not assumed from a shelf count.
Mounting, Connections, and Environmental Ratings
Mounts on a rail or plate (Mounting Support: Rail Plate) and measures 7.2 in wide by 6.4 in tall by 4.2 in deep — the 4.2 in depth (106.5 mm) is the dimension to check against enclosure depth clearance. Power circuit connections accept bars or screw terminals for 25...95 mm² flexible cable, torqued to 106.2 lbf·in (12 N·m). The right-side operating handle is integral to the body. IP20 protection with the terminal cover fitted (IEC 60529) — suitable for enclosed panel installation, not for washdown or outdoor exposure. Operating temperature range is -20...70 °C.
Standards Compliance and Durability
Designed to IEC 60269-1, IEC 60269-2, and IEC 60947-3 — the fuse switch disconnector standard for AC and DC networks. Rated insulation voltage is 750 V AC, with an impulse withstand voltage of 8 kV. Fire resistance tested to IEC 60695-2-1: the body withstands 1760 °F (960 °C) and the fuse cover 1562 °F (850 °C). Mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles; electrical durability is 1500 cycles in AC-23A/B and 300 cycles in DC-23A/B. Short-circuit withstand rating is 80 kA, coordinated with the BS fuses. The rated short-circuit making capacity (Icm) is 100 kA at 400 V with the associated BS fuse protection.
