What the breaking capacity means for your panel
The GV7RE25 is a 3-pole motor circuit breaker from the TeSys GV7 series, rated for continuous duty per IEC 60947-4-1. At 220/240 V AC it jumps to 85 kA Icu, which covers most industrial service-entrance fault levels.
Motor power and trip curve fit
Thermal-magnetic trip unit with phase-failure sensitivity per IEC 60947-4-1 § 7-2-1-5-2. That means it catches a lost phase on the motor side before the winding overheats — a common failure mode on long cable runs or corroded contactors. The power ratings are 11 kW at 400/415 V AC and 15 kW at 500 V AC; at 660/690 V AC it handles 18.5 kW. Match the motor FLA to the thermal adjustment range on the nameplate; the magnetic pickup is fixed.
Mounts vertically by clips or screws on a DIN rail or flush panel. The 35 mm pitch without spreaders matches standard DIN-rail terminal blocks; with spreaders it opens to 45 mm. Terminal connections accept bare cable or lugs up to 95 mm² — torque the M6 screw to 10 N·m.
Electrical durability and operating rate
Rated for 30,000 electrical cycles at 440 V AC under AC-3 duty (full motor load), and 50,000 cycles at half load. Mechanical endurance is 50,000 cycles. Maximum operating rate is 25 cycles per hour — fine for a pump or compressor start, not for a high-speed indexing line. Power dissipation is 5 W per pole, so three poles dump 15 W into the enclosure; no forced cooling needed in a standard panel.
