Overview
The HMIBMIEA5DD100A is a Schneider Harmony iPC modular box PC, order code HMIBMIEA5DD100A, classified as Basic Optimised with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM internal and not expandable. It runs on a 24 V DC supply, is fanless, and measures 187.96 mm wide by 149.86 mm high, supporting book, flat, or wall mounting. This unit is discontinued as of April 30, 2025, per Schneider's lifecycle notice.
As a modular box PC, the HMIBMIEA5DD100A serves as the compute core for a Harmony iPC display station, running the operating system and HMI/SCADA runtime. The 4 GB of DDR3 RAM is soldered and not expandable, which sets the upper bound for application memory — sufficient for single-machine HMI screens and light data logging, but not for multi-cell SCADA nodes. The unit provides one mini PCI Express full-size slot for optional interface cards, and a screw-type ground connection plus SMA antenna connector on the top. The fanless design and conformal-coated enclosure suit it for dusty or washdown-adjacent cabinets where moving parts would collect debris. Display resolution supports up to 3200 x 2000 pixels at 60 Hz, covering modern widescreen panels. The watchdog timer is configurable from 1 to 255 ms, allowing the host controller to detect a hung application and trigger a reboot or alarm.
Applications
Harmony iPC modular box PCs are deployed as the embedded controller in operator stations for packaging lines, material handling, water treatment skids, and discrete manufacturing cells. The unit connects to a separate HMIDM modular display via the range-compatible interface, forming a panel-mount HMI without an integrated screen.
Schneider discontinued the HMIBMIEA5DD100A effective April 30, 2025.
