The Schneider Electric LC3K09E7 is a TeSys K star delta starter, pre-wired with three 3-pole power poles (3 x 3 NO) and a 48 V AC coil. It's built for motor control under AC-3 utilization category — the standard for squirrel-cage motors during starting, switching off running motors, and plugging.
The AC-3 rating at 9 A is the number that decides whether this starter fits your motor. AC-3 means it's rated for making and breaking motor currents — higher than the resistive AC-1 rating for the same contactor. The 48 V AC coil is a specific control voltage; if your panel runs 24 V DC or 110 V AC, this coil won't pull in. Flame retardance meets V1 per UL 94, so it's rated for flammability in enclosed panels.
Integration notes
The pre-wired design saves a few wiring steps on the bench, but the 3 x 3P pole arrangement means you're committing to three separate contactor poles in the star-delta configuration — not a single 3-pole contactor. Operating altitude is 2000 m without derating; above that you'd need to account for reduced dielectric strength. The protective treatment (TC per IEC 60068 and DIN 50016) suggests it's tested for condensation and corrosive atmospheres, which is good for industrial environments but doesn't replace an IP65 enclosure.
