The Schneider LC3K09U7 is a TeSys K star delta starter — a pre-wired assembly combining three contactors (3 x 3P, all normally open) in a single unit for reduced-voltage starting of three-phase induction motors. The 240 V AC coil pulls in on line voltage;
The AC-3 rating of 9 A is the motor-switching current — this is the figure that governs real use, not a resistive-heat number. It means the starter can make and break a 9 A inductive motor load across all three poles. The 3 x 3P (three NO poles per contactor) gives you the three contactors needed for star-delta transition: one for line, one for star, one for delta. Operating altitude is 2000 m without derating, so it's fine for most industrial sites but watch it above that. Flame retardance meets V1 per UL 94 and NF F 16-101/102, which matters for rail and transit applications where fire-smoke-toxicity compliance is required.
Mechanical and Environmental Robustness
Vibration resistance is 2 Gn (contactor open) and 4 Gn (closed) over 5–300 Hz. Shock ratings go up to 15 Gn on closed contacts (Y and Z axes). Storage temperature spans -50 to 80 °C. Protective treatment conforms to IEC 60068 and DIN 50016, so it handles humid or mildly corrosive atmospheres inside a sealed enclosure.
