Speed-torque curve across supply voltages
The SH30702M12A1100: This SH3 frame motor delivers 3000 rpm nominal on 400 V three-phase supply, and 3600 rpm on 480 V three-phase — the speed shifts with the bus voltage, so the drive's DC bus regulation matters for consistent line speed. Nominal torque holds at 2.03 N.m on both 400 V and 480 V three-phase, but drops to 2.15 N.m on 230 V single-phase and 2.2 N.m on 115 V single-phase — the torque constant is 1.36 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temp, so the available torque follows the current the drive can push into the 16.4 Ohm stator winding. Continuous power is 640 W, but the nominal output power varies by supply: 660 W on 400 V three-phase, 780 W on 480 V three-phase, 700 W on 115 V single-phase, and only 340 W on 230 V single-phase — the single-phase numbers are the ones that catch people out on retrofit jobs.
Encoder and feedback — what the Hiperface means for the drive
The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder gives position feedback on power-up without a homing move — the multiturn count tracks shaft revolutions even when unpowered, so the drive knows the absolute position after a power cycle. This encoder type talks to most Schneider and third-party servo drives that support the Hiperface protocol; the wiring is a standard 8-pin round connector with SinCos analog tracks plus a digital commutation channel.
Mechanical fit — flange, shaft, and load limits
The motor flange is 70 mm square with a 60 mm centring collar and 5.5 mm mounting holes — the international standard flange pattern matches the common 70 mm frame mounting on gearboxes and linear actuators. Shaft diameter is 11 mm with a parallel key, 23 mm shaft length, and 4 mm key width — the shaft end is standard for a 70 mm flange motor, so couplings and pulleys from the same frame size fit without rework. Maximum radial force Fr is 710 N at 1000 rpm, dropping to 390 N at 6000 rpm — the bearing load limit is speed-dependent, so a belt drive at high speed needs a lighter belt tension than a direct-coupled load. Maximum axial force Fa is 80 N — this is a low figure; any axial preload from a coupling or helical gear must stay under that to avoid bearing damage.
IP65 and cooling — where this motor runs
IP65 per IEC 60034-5 on both the motor body and the shaft bushing — the motor withstands hose-down and dust ingress, so it fits food processing, washdown zones, and outdoor conveyor lines without a cover. Cooling is natural convection — no fan on the shaft, so the motor relies on the mounting surface and ambient air for heat rejection. In a confined cabinet or high-ambient enclosure, the continuous torque derates faster than a fan-cooled frame.
