What the 20 m laser range means for your application
The SICK DT50-P2113 is a Dx50 series optical distance sensor that delivers a 20 m sensing range using a red laser light source. That 20 m reach means it can resolve position on a moving target — a crane trolley, an AGV, a gantry axis — without needing a separate reflector or target plate. The laser spot stays collimated over the full range, so the measurement is repeatable within the sensor's resolution at both 200 mm minimum and 20 m maximum. Response time is 15 ms.
PNP output and connector — wiring considerations
The DT50-P2113 terminates in an M12, 5-pin male connector and provides a PNP switching output. Operating voltage range is 10 to 30 VDC.
