The Sick GRTB18S-P2317 is a photoelectric proximity sensor from the GR18S series, delivering a 300 mm sensing range with a 500 µs response time. It uses a visible red LED (light-ON only) and a PNP output, terminated through an M12 3-pin connector. The 18 mm cube body (18 x 18 x 38.1 mm) fits tight panel layouts, and the IP67 rating means it handles washdown zones — suitable for packaging or material handling lines where coolant or spray is present. Supply it from 10 to 30 VDC; the output sinks up to 30 mA, enough to drive a PLC input directly without an interposing relay.
The 18 mm cube mounts via through-hole or bracket to a machine frame. The M12 3-pin connector mates with standard sensor cables (e.g., Sick DOL-1204 series). Strip length of 8 mm avoids whiskers under the clamp. The PNP output is active-high on the light condition; verify the load is pulled to ground through the PLC input.
