The SICK IME18-05BPSZC0S is a flush-mountable inductive proximity sensor in an 18 mm nickel-plated brass barrel, 69 mm long. It detects ferrous targets at 5 mm and switches a PNP normally-open output at up to 1000 Hz. The M12 4-pin connector keeps wiring clean and field-replaceable.
Flush mounting means the sensing face can be level with the surrounding metal — no dead zone around the barrel — so it fits into tight machine frames or conveyor guides where a non-flush sensor would false-trigger on the mounting bracket. The 5 mm range is the rated sensing distance for a standard mild steel target; derate for other metals (roughly 60% for stainless, 40% for aluminum).
