Sensor overview and fit
The SICK OD1-B035C15Q15 is a 2D laser displacement sensor from the OD Mini series, built for precision profiling and gap measurement in tight spaces. It runs on a 12 to 24 VDC supply and outputs a configurable PNP/NPN signal via the M12 cable connector — the 30 cm cable length suits close-coupled mounting in a machine frame. Installation distance spans 20.0 to 50.0 mm. IP67 rating (dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion) means the housing and optics survive washdown environments — food-and-bev packaging lines or machining cells with coolant spray are within its reach.
Mounting and wiring note
Chassis-mount footprint with a cable-and-M12-connector termination. Operating temperature range is -10°C to 40°C. That covers most indoor factory-floor conditions but not freezers or high-temp ovens — if the ambient exceeds 40°C, a different sensor with a wider thermal rating would be needed.
Comparison with a close sibling
The closest peer is OD1-B035C15I25 — same 2D laser type, same OD Mini series, same 20–50 mm range, same 12–24 VDC supply and IP67 rating. The difference is the termination: the Q15 variant has a cable with M12 connector; the I25 variant uses a connector-only interface. If your panel already has a fixed M12 pigtail, the I25 saves one cable run. If you need a factory-attached cable for strain relief, the Q15 is the one.
