The OD1-B035H15I14 is a 2D laser displacement sensor from the SICK OD Mini series, delivering a 4-20mA analog output proportional to the measured distance. It's built for precision measurement in tight spaces — the compact chassis-mount package fits where a full-frame sensor won't. Runs on a 12 to 24VDC supply and covers a 20.0mm to 50.0mm installation distance range. The IP67 rating means the housing and optics survive washdown — suitable for food-and-bev lines or outdoor enclosures where dust and water jets are the norm. Operating temperature spans -10°C to 40°C, so it's fine for conditioned factory floors but not freezer tunnels or hot-melt zones without thermal isolation.
What the 4-20mA output means for your loop
The 4-20mA analog output is the standard industrial signal for PLC analog input cards — no protocol conversion, no Modbus mapping. 4 mA at the near end of the 20-50mm range, 20 mA at the far end. That linear relationship means the PLC scaling is a straight slope, no lookup table needed. Termination is via a 4-pin M8 connector, so the sensor ships without a pigtail. You supply the mating cordset — saves panel space and lets you choose the cable length at install time.
