2D Laser Displacement Sensor, 100–400 mm Range
The OD2-N250W150C2 is a 2D laser displacement sensor from the OD Value series, designed for non-contact profile measurement over a 100.0 mm to 400.0 mm installation distance. That range covers mid-field applications — inspecting part geometry, gap detection, or seam tracking on a moving line where the target passes at a standoff of a few hundred millimeters. Power it from 12 to 24 VDC; the NPN output interfaces directly with a PLC sinking input card. The cable leads (not a connector) mean you hard-wire it into the machine harness — plan for a junction box or gland entry rather than a quick-disconnect M12. IP67 rating seals the housing and optics against washdown and dust ingress, so it survives on a machining center or a packaging line where coolant mist and periodic hose-down are routine. Operating temperature is rated -10°C to 40°C — fine for a conditioned factory floor, but not for a freezer or outdoor enclosure without climate control.
How the Installation Distance Drives Fit
The 100–400 mm distance range is the single most important fit parameter on this sensor. If your application needs a standoff under 100 mm — say, a 50 mm gap to a small part — the OD2-N250W150C2 will not focus. The OD Value family includes models like OD2-N50W10A0 with a 40–60 mm range for close-in work, and OD2-N30W04U0 with a 26–34 mm range for micro-profile tasks. Conversely, if your target is beyond 400 mm, this sensor won't resolve it.
