Sensor fit and output logic
The SICK OD2-N30W04C2 is a 2D laser displacement sensor from the OD Value series, delivering a measurement range of ±4 mm at a nominal standoff of 30 mm (26.0 mm to 34.0 mm installation distance). Output is NPN — sinking current on the signal line when the target is within range — so it mates directly with sinking PLC inputs or NPN-compatible controllers without a pull-up resistor. Supply is 12~24 VDC, common for industrial sensor buses. IP67 rating means the sensor body and cable entry are dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion — suitable for washdown zones in packaging, food processing, or machining lines where coolant spray is present. The chassis-mount form factor and cable-lead termination simplify bracket mounting and direct wiring to a junction box.
