The OD2-P300W200I0 is a 2D laser displacement sensor from ifm's OD Value series, built for measuring position or profile over a 100 to 500 mm standoff. It spits out a 4-20 mA analog signal proportional to displacement within a ±200 mm window centered at 300 mm. That means you get a linear current loop reading you can feed straight into a PLC analog card or a panel meter.
Runs on 12 to 24 VDC, so it'll share a common industrial supply without a separate converter. The IP67 rating means it can handle washdown and dust out on the line — I've seen these survive on a lube route where coolant spray and grit are the norm.
