Sizing the motor against the mechanical load
The 1FK2104-5AK11-0MB0 is the SH 50-frame entry in Siemens' SIMOTICS S-1FK2 HD line, a low-inertia synchronous servo intended to pair one-to-one with a SINAMICS S120 drive module over DRIVE-CLiQ. The standstill torque M0 of 2.4 Nm is the headline number that decides whether this frame fits the axis — anything demanding continuous shaft torque above that figure needs the next frame up. Two rated-power points are listed for the same frame, which matters when the panel is fed from a 230 V feeder versus a 480 V one: PN = 1.07 kW at nN = 6000 rpm for the 380-480 V envelope, and PN = 0.75 kW at nN = 3000 rpm for the 200-240 V envelope. The motor itself is identical — the difference is what the upstream drive and DC bus can deliver, so the BOM line for the drive chassis has to be cross-checked before sign-off.

Mechanical fit is a cylindrical shaft D19 × 40 mm with key per the SIMOTICS 1FK2 convention, and the housing carries IP65 — so the motor can sit near the gearbox housing on a machine skid, but any direct hose-down duty in food or washdown cells still needs the next IP step up. Siemens lists the lifecycle stage as current and the product status as Active — this is still in series production on the standard SIMOTICS 1FK2 line, not a discontinued build. Because the motor is class C — built to order rather than stocked against a generic SKU — independent distribution handles it on an RFQ basis: price breaks, lead time, and the next available production slot are confirmed at quote, not pulled off a shelf counter.
