Servo sizing for a 0.75 kW axis
The 1FK2204-5AF10-1MB0 is a SIMOTICS S-1FK2 CT servo motor from the 1FK2 family targeted at SINAMICS S120 drives, sized at M0 = 2.4 Nm standstill torque with a rated point of PN = 0.75 kW at nN = 3000 rpm on a 380-480 V bus, and a second operating point of PN = 0.375 kW at nN = 1500 rpm on a 200-240 V bus. The dual operating-point listing is the engineering tell: one stator, two inverter line-voltage regions, so a designer can standardise the motor across both European 400 V and North American 230 V cabinets without changing the mechanics. Encoder side is an absolute 22-bit single-turn plus 12-bit multiturn (AM22DQC) brought back over a DRIVE-CLiQ M17 plug, which is the cleanest path into a SINAMICS S120 topology — the drive auto-detects the motor and pulls the electronic nameplate, so the DC sync starts in the right place rather than being hand-tuned axis by axis.
Mechanical and holding-brake fit
Shaft is D19 x 40 mm with a feather key, and the body carries an IP64 degree of protection — adequate for cabinet-internal mounting and light dust exposure, but not for washdown. The shaft keyway is the load-side decision: keyed shafts handle higher shock loads and reversing duty better than smooth or friction-fit shafts of the same diameter, at the cost of a small backlash on position-controlled axes. An integrated holding brake is fitted — the practical effect is that a vertical axis can hold position with the drive de-energised at standstill, which is what most packaging, pick-and-place, and small-format converting lines need. The brake is wired through the same M17 power connector, so no separate brake cable run is required at the panel.
Lifecycle status and BOM posture
Group Code R220 and Product Group 9021 are the internal classification keys a Siemens planner uses for quotation and lead-time confirmation. Product class is C — built to order, non-returnable, non-reusable against credit — which is the standard posture for configured servomotors and means each unit is built against the order rather than pulled from a generic shelf.
Compliance paperwork that travels with the motor
RoHS substance-restriction compliance is recorded since 01-07-06, and REACH Article 33 candidate-list duty-to-inform applies with the standard Reach Information disclosure. Export-control markings are AL: N / ECCN: N_CNDU — no export licence trigger for the usual destinations, which simplifies cross-border shipment paperwork.
Sourcing posture
Packaging is one piece per shipper at 452 x 250 x 267 mm — a single-motor carton size typical for this frame, not a multi-pack.
