What this motor is and what drives it
The 1FK2204-5AK10-2SB0 is a SIMOTICS S-1FK2 CT servo motor from the 1FK2 family — the compact line intended to pair with the SINAMICS S120 drive platform via the DRIVE-CLiQ M17 feedback interface on the back end. The shaft exits through a cylindrical D14 x 30 mm profile and a 22-bit single-turn absolute encoder (AS22DQC) provides position feedback without needing a battery on the motor. Two power envelopes are listed on the same frame: 0.57 kW at nN = 6000 rpm when supplied from a 380-480 V SINAMICS line, and 0.75 kW at nN = 3000 rpm from a 200-240 V line. The 8 kHz / 62.5 µs current-loop rating sets the controller bandwidth expectation — anything slower in the drive project will under-utilise this motor.
Torque, brake and protection
Stall torque M0 = 2.4 Nm — the holding brake locks the shaft when the drive is de-energised, so the motor fits vertical-axis applications where gravity load must hold position without a separate failsafe. The brake is part of the order code, not an add-on, and the encoder behind it is a single-turn 22-bit device rather than multi-turn. Degree of protection IP64 — the motor body is dust-tight and resistant to splashing water from any direction, so it sits inside a cabinet or a covered machine section rather than directly in a washdown zone. M17 size connectors on both the power and signal sides are sealed at the plug face; cable selection has to match the M17 spec for ingress to hold.
Ordering class and shelf reality
Product class C on this order code: manufactured to order, returns and re-credits are not the procurement model. That is the standard posture for a configured 1FK2 — the encoder variant, brake, connector size and current-loop timing are all part of the build, so the unit does not sit on a stock shelf as a generic spare. Lifecycle stage is recorded as active and the lifecycle field reads current — production is not closed, no L-coded successor or end-of-life notice is on the record. For an MRO bin, that matters: the same order code can be re-purchased on a future replacement without a board re-spin, provided the configured options match. Group Code R220, Product Group 9021 — the Siemens internal classification that procurement and warranty paperwork route against. RoHS compliance is logged from 01-07-06 onward, REACH Art. 33 information is published, and export control is AL:N / ECCN:N_CNDU, which generally means no special export licence is triggered for the standard configuration.
