What the torque and power ratings mean for the drive train
The 1FK2204-6AF10-0MB0: The 3.2 Nm standstill torque (M0) is the holding moment available the instant the shaft is stationary — this is what the SINAMICS S120 closed-loop controller references before it has generated any back-EMF. At rated speed of 3000 rpm the motor delivers 1 kW on a 380-480 V supply; drop to 1500 rpm on 200-240 V and the available shaft power halves to 0.5 kW — a direct consequence of the V/Hz profile limiting the flux, so a machine running mixed-voltage plants needs to lock the supply tier before specifying this frame.
The absolute encoder and DRIVE-CLiQ interface
The onboard absolute encoder reports 22-bit single-turn plus 12-bit multiturn — that is 4,096 revolutions of position memory, giving better than 0.001 rpm resolution across a full mechanical turn with no homing cycle required on power-up. The DRIVE-CLiQ M17 connector carries both encoder position and motor thermal data back to the SINAMICS S120 drive over the same cable that delivers power — eliminating a separate encoder cable run and letting the drive's firmware auto-identify the motor type code on connection.
Holding brake and IP64 sealing
The integrated holding brake holds the motor shaft stationary when the drive de-energises the windings — critical for any vertical-axis or gravity-loaded mechanism where the load would back-drive the motor between shutdown and restart. IP64 means the motor housing is protected against ingress of dust and splashing water from any direction, which covers washdown environments in food, packaging and beverage lines provided the DRIVE-CLiQ connector is sealed to its matching IP67 cordset at the panel entry.
Made-to-order and compliance
This is a Class C product — manufactured to each order, not stocked from shelf inventory, with no return or credit path if the BOM line changes. Lead time and minimum order quantity are confirmed at quote against the RFQ; the DRIVE-CLiQ M17 interface means this motor must be paired with a SINAMICS S120 axis module and cannot be drop-in substituted with a different drive family's servo motor without a hardware change on both the drive and the cabling harness.
