Encoder feedback and shaft — what the encoder code is telling you
The 1FK7033-7AK71-3AG5: Plain shaft, tolerance N, no holding brake: this motor must rely on the load for any hold-on-power-loss behavior, which is the deciding factor on whether a brake-less swap is acceptable on the existing axis or whether a brake-equipped 1FK7 variant has to be sourced to preserve the safety stop.
IP65 DE flange / IP67 housing — what the sealing split means on the floor
The sealing spec is split: IP65 at the DE (drive-end) flange and IP67 over the rest of the housing, which is Siemens' way of saying the body tolerates washdown and humid plant air but the shaft seal carries the lower rating — install any shaft-side splash guard or coupling boot on the machine side if the gear reducer sits in cutting fluid or coolant, otherwise the DE seal is the first thing that lets go. IM B5 flange with V1 and V3 mounting orientations means the same motor drops onto either a shaft-down or shaft-up mounting pattern without re-machining the bracket; the power/signal connector exits toward the NDE, so cable routing clears the encoder cover and stays out of the coupling.
