Why this 1FL2 servo and not the next frame up
The Siemens 1FL2102-4AF11-1MC0 is a SIMOTICS S-1FL2 servomotor sized at 0.32 Nm continuous torque with a 100 W nameplate rating and a 3000 rpm rated speed, built in the 20 mm shaft-height frame and wired up through a hybrid AM21 connector to the SINAMICS S200 drive family. For an auxiliary-axis application — small indexing tables, diverters, labelers, light-format conveyor — it gives a SINAMICS-native motion loop without stepping up to the next frame's mechanical envelope. The 21-bit multi-turn absolute encoder and the integrated holding brake close the loop and hold the axis without an external brake resistor or third-party cable, which is what keeps cabinet-side wiring to the connector and not a junction box.
What the ratings commit
Pn=100 W with Nn=3000 rpm and M0=Mn=0.32 Nm means continuous and stall torque are equal on this frame — the motor can sit at a stop under hold for short indexing dwells without immediately leaving the continuous thermal envelope, but the 100 W ceiling still rules out anything that asks for steady mechanical work above that line. Supply voltage 400 V 3AC upstream of the SINAMICS S200 line filter is the conversion point — the drive converts 400 V 3AC to the DC bus the 1FL2 sees, which is why this motor is paired, not patched in next to a 230 V axis. IP65 with oil seal and a keyed shaft held to tolerance N is the field-side commitment: light washdown, coolant mist, and direct-drive couplings that mount on the key without rework — not submerged or food-zone cleaning.
