Frame, power, and where it sits on the S200 line
The 1FL2204-4BF01-0HC0 is a SIMOTICS S-1FL2 low-inertia servomotor built for the SINAMICS S200 drive platform — 400 V 3AC supply, Pn=1 kW, Nn=3000 rpm, with standstill torque M0 and rated torque Mn both rated at 3.2 Nm on a 40 mm shaft height. That torque parity between M0 and Mn is the practical signature of the 1FL2 family: the motor holds rated torque across base speed rather than dropping into a constant-power region, which simplifies sizing when the cycle profile is dominated by short, repeated moves rather than high-speed traverse. For the panel builder that pairing is not optional — the S-1FL2 is dimensioned and parameterised against the SINAMICS S200, so substituting a 1FL2 onto an S120/V90 drive (or the reverse) means redoing the motor commissioning data block, not just rewiring.
Mechanical and feedback configuration
This build ships as a plain shaft, tolerance N, without a holding brake, and uses a 17-bit absolute singleturn encoder wired through a hybrid connector. No holding brake is the choice to flag on the AVL check — if the customer's mechanics relies on a fail-safe stop at the motor (vertical axis, gravity-loaded slide), this variant will not satisfy that requirement and the build will need the equivalent brake option on the same 40 mm frame. The hybrid connector consolidates power and signal in one plug, which cleans up the cabinet-side gland plate but locks the cable spec to the Siemens hybrid assembly — third-party motor cables are not on the approved alternate list for this family. IP65 with oil seal is the right call for machine tools and gearboxes where fine oil mist reaches the shaft area; the seal makes the motor resistant to washdown splash and coolant aerosol but the rating stops at IP65, so a flooded food-and-bev enclosure would call for a higher-rated frame.
Procurement code, lifecycle, and compliance
Siemens lists the order under Group Code R220 / Product Group X0DK, sold per piece, with product class C — built to order, no reuse, no return credit. For a contract manufacturer that means the customer's approved-vendor list (AVL) governs the build: any deviation from Siemens on this code requires a written change request, not a free substitution. RoHS compliance has been in force since 01-01-18, and REACH Art. 33 duty-to-inform applies — the declaration pack needs to include the Reach Information sheet when the motor ships into the EU.
