DOL starter for motor branch circuits
The 3RA2110-1FA15-1AP0 is a Siemens SIRIUS direct-on-line starter combining a contactor and overload relay in a single Size S00 package — it starts and protects a three-phase motor in one DIN-rail footprint. The unit ships with the 3RT2015-1AP01 contactor and 3RA1921-1DA00 link module pre-assembled — the contactor handles the switching, the link module carries the overload relay and auxiliary contacts, and both snap onto 35 mm DIN rail as a single assembly.
Panel space and mounting constraints
Mounting position is vertical only, with 50 mm clearance required above and 20 mm forward of the device for wiring access — the screw-type main circuit terminals accept up to 4 AWG and need a screwdriver swing arc. Side clearance of 20 mm and zero backward clearance means the unit can sit flush against a panel backplate or adjacent device on the same rail.
Environmental limits that matter up-tower
Operating temperature range of -20 to +60 °C covers unheated enclosures in temperate climates and NEMA 4X cabinets in direct sun — the -20 °C floor is cold enough for most onshore wind turbine nacelle installations where the heater keeps the cabinet above freezing. Storage and transport range of -50 to +80 °C means the starter can sit in a frozen warehouse or a shipping container crossing the equator without damage — no special cold-chain handling needed.
